Counting down cinco de mayo with Corona
Corona wanted to win Cinco de Mayo by making their Lime Drop campaign - a celebration of the moment when you pop the top and drop a lime into a bottle of Corona - bigger and better than ever. So, we created a lime that was too big, and too awesome, to ignore.
MULTIPLY convinced the owners of the iconic New Year’s Eve ball to let us reprogram it - something they’d never let a brand do before - turn it into a lime, and drop it to kick off Cinco celebrations. To add some smoke to the show, we invited Corona fan and actor Josh Duhamel to lead Lime Drop and kick off the fiesta.
Lime Drop was combined with a rooftop media and influencer party, custom Snapchat filter, and a Cinco-ready supply of ice cold Corona’s. We mixed all that together, dropped in a lime, and the results were magical.
The stunt allowed Corona to crush Cinco de Mayo share of voice for imported Mexican beers by ten-percent, launching Corona into its best Cinco De Mayo of all time.
